Lenders Technical Adviser

The contract was awarded to H2ID which is a partnership of IDE Technologies and Housing and Construction and it was signed on 23 November 2006 between the contracting partnership and the State of Israel.

The plant was extended during the construction phase to produce 127 million m3 of high quality potable water per year with the capability to increase this to some 150 million m3 at peak production if needed. Feed water for the plant is sourced from the Mediterranea Sea.

As the concession company, H2ID operate the plant as a private bulk treated water supplier, and sell the water to the government of Israel at a pre-defined price, over a period of 25 years (including the construction period). At the end of the contract period, the plant will be handed over and will become the property of the government.

The site is located on the coastal strip and consists of a narrow strip of land lying to the south of the Hadera Power Station and is bounded to the west by the sea and to the south by the small Hadera River and a park area.
